The bald-faced hornet is one of North America's apex predators in the insect kingdom. Known for their aggression and extreme territorial behavior, the bald-faced hornet has an infamous reputation. They are also known for their large intricate paper nests. Bald-faced hornets are extremely territorial as well as opportunistic hunters - killing bees, wasps, spiders and even birds and mice. Because of this, when a nest is established, other insects and wasps avoid that area. The Apex Predator Nest was designed with this in mind.
instructions for use: For best results, hang the decoy in the area you wish to protect - porches, over hangs, decks barns, etc. If wasp nests are already present, they must be exterminated and knocked down. Hanging the decoy where nests are already established is unnatural and will have poor results. Note: bald-faced hornets abandon their nest every winter and build new ones in the spring. We suggest moving the decoy (example from one side of the porch to the other) early every spring to be more natural and more effective.
Our developers have 25+ years background experience in the pest industry and as sportsmen. With an understanding in the effectiveness of chemical pesticides and the collateral damage caused by indiscriminately killing off native pollinators, our team searched for a solution. Inspired by duck hunters using ultra realistic decoys to attract their quarry, our team put the same effort into deterring our adversaries. Though not a new concept, we are proud to be the first to use a state-of-the-art 3D digital scanner on a real bald-faced hornets' nest to produce the strongest and most realistic wasp and carpenter bee deterrent decoy on the market.
